Gifts of Stock

Thank you for deciding on a gift of stock to The Dui Hua Foundation! The foundation accepts gifts of securities, including donated shares of publicly held corporations and shares of mutual funds.

Process of Making a Stock Gift

To make a stock gift, notify your broker that you wish to transfer securities into The Dui Hua Foundation’s brokerage account at UnionBanc Investment Services. All conversations or correspondence with your bank or broker should include our legal name: THE DUI HUA FOUNDATION. 

Please notify The Dui Hua Foundation about the gift transaction at the same time you instruct your broker to transfer securities into our brokerage account. To avoid unidentified gifts, please copy Manager of Administration and Finance Irene Kamm at The Dui Hua Foundation (email Irene Kamm or fax 415-986-0579) on any correspondence with your broker or bank.

In order for us to properly receive the gifted shares into our account and to provide an accurate and timely acknowledgement for your tax records, please send The Dui Hua Foundation a letter with:

• A concurrent notification with the donor's name

• The type and number of shares being transferred

• The name and phone number of the donor's broker

You will receive an acknowledgement letter from The Dui Hua Foundation which names the stock, the number of shares, and the date the transfer was made to our brokerage account. Gifts of securities that are held for more than one year may be deducted at the full market value. We recommend that you consult with your tax advisor to ascertain the deductibility of your contribution.
